Perfectly located along the Dalmatian Coast, the town of Makarska is the perfect place to “base” yourself when traveling to Croatia. With accessibility to islands such as Hvar and Brac, you can rent a boat for the day to find private beaches and coves. Also, the towns of Dubrovnik and Split are also just a short drive away. Makarska is “embraced by nature” surrounded with parks, the sea, islands and Biokovo mountain. You’ll definitely want to hike to the top of the mountain, try local wines, explore the old town, hike through the parks and experience the local cuisine.

Where is it? Makarska Riviera on the Dalmatian Coast

How to get here? You can fly into Split or Dubrovnik and drive.

Best combined with: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar and Brac

Ashley’s favorite thing to do: Hike to the top of Biokovo for the best view in Croatia!
